Orthodontics, i.e. the treatment of malocclusion and irregularities in the setting of teeth in children and adults. Sometimes orthodontic treatment is a preparation for prosthetic or implant treatment. Before orthodontic treatment, teeth must be cured and tartar removed. You should also make accurate impressions of teeth and X-ray.

In our clinics in Warsaw Wola and Bemowo, we perform orthodontic permanent and removable braces, we use only proven materials from reputed manufacturers.

Removable braces – they are recommended mainly for small children, i.e. before the end of the exchange of milk teeth into permanent ones. The braces are made of acrylic plate and a loop made of wire, matching the shape of the teeth. The effectiveness of the treatment with this type of braces depends on the cooperation of the patient with the doctor. The child must strictly follow their recommendations and use the braces on a certain number of hours per day.

Permanent braces – they are recommended for the treatment of malocclusion after the age of 13, because they can be set up only on the permanent dentition (youth and adults). It allows you to correct defects much more serious than removable braces.
During the treatment, rigorous compliance with the rules of hygiene are vital – the braces can in fact collect the remnants of food, which increases the risk of tooth decay. For sale are appropriate toothbrushes, dental floss and rinse. People with permanent braces should also avoid chewing gum and hard foods that could cause loosening of the components of the braces.

The time period of the wearing of such an apparatus depends on the malocclusion. Among the permanent appliances, we distinguish: aesthetic devices (ceramic, crystal, composite) and metal braces (titanium and nickel-free).

Indications for orthodontic consultation in a child:

• asymmetry in facial features,
• harmful habits (e.g. nail biting, pencils, pens, toe sucking, pacifier)
• speech defect,
• mouth breathing,
• language dysfunction,
• constantly open mouth,
• premature loss of milk teeth (due to complications of caries)
• excessively extended or withdrawn chin,
• incorrect alignment of teeth (jamming or gaps between teeth).

Indications for orthodontic consultation in adults:

• gnashing of teeth,
• abrasion of the teeth,
• uncovering the necks of the teeth,
• jamming of the teeth,
• excessive scaling.
• symptoms in the form of jamming, rotation of teeth or gaps between teeth.
